Cults Academy Pupil Impresses

Mother Technologies has been host to a budding student from Cults Academy during the first week of their mid-term October holidays. Cameron Wilson, currently a 6th year student at Cults Academy, had approached Mother Technologies to ask if it would be possible to offer him a week of work experience.

Cameron said, “I’m considering studying Computing and Physics at university, perhaps as a joint degree, so I wanted to get some work experience and see what it was all about first. I think IT is something I might like to have a career in.”

Steve Redhead, Managing Director, was impressed with Cameron’s obvious drive and initiative, so was very happy to oblige. Cameron spent the week shadowing a number of our engineers, watching as they solved customer queries and also receiving a number of one on one workshops covering a range of Mother’s technical disciplines.

Cameron commented of the experience “I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, but the guys at Mother Technologies have been really great, they’ve walked me through a lot of stuff. I’ve learned lots over the course of the week about servers, networks and telecoms. It’s been a really interesting experience and I’ve been kept busy! I’d like to thank Mother Technologies and Steve Redhead in particular for giving me the opportunity.”

Helpdesk Supervisor, Christopher Wyles said “Cameron was an absolute pleasure to have in the office. He was a very willing and attentive pupil, confident and extremely well presented. He is a credit to both Cults Academy and himself. He very quickly integrated into the team and the engineers also commented on his aptitude. I’m sure he has a bright career ahead of him in whatever subject he chooses to pursue.”
