Broadband still has its place for small branch offices and home workers. However due to contention, limited upload speeds and the reliability issues associated with copper connections, it has largely been superseded by Superfast Broadband (FTTC). FTTC offers a far superior service at a similarly attractive price point.
In many rural regions, FTTC is still not available and broadband remains the only available low cost offering.
