Ethernet First Mile (EFM) is a copper-based Ethernet circuit that bridges the gap between broadband and end-to-end fibre circuits. It is ideal for businesses that have outgrown their broadband connections. Two variants are available, EFM2 & EFM4.

Because EFM is copper-based, it’s performance is distance dependent. The table below represents the symmetrical speeds obtainable based on your distance from the local exchange.

EFM is not available if you are beyond 3.9km from your local exchange. Consider an EoFTTC if you are a long way from your Exchange.
