Graduate Network Engineer Aberdeen

Mother Technologies is looking for a Graduate Network Engineer to join its team in Aberdeen.

Mother Technologies, established more than 20 years ago, is a reputable Service Provider head-quartered in Aberdeen that provides one-stop IT Support, Telecom and Connectivity services to organisations across Scotland. 

We have worked closely with local Institutes for many years, enjoying the mutually rewarding facility for placement students during and on completion of their academic studies.

Through accelerated learning and exposure to a large portfolio of networking technologies, graduates employed by Mother springboard their careers to become established and valuable members of any networking team. Within as little as 12 months, graduates will be proficient with the installation, configuration and support of private layer-2 circuits, public layer-3 circuits, SD-WAN’s, VLAN’s, VPN’s, VoIP, traffic control, routing and security policies.

Clean, secure connectivity is critical for modern-day organisations with cloud and hybrid system arrangements and as a Graduate Network Engineer at Mother, you will play a valuable role in ensuring our network delivers for our clients.

Is This You?

The ideal candidate will have completed a degree in Cyber Security and Network Management or a course with similar content. You will be eager to put your theory into practice, dedicate yourself to further learning with professional willingness and conduct. You will be a hard working conscientious team player with a professional attitude towards clients and colleagues alike, ensuring Mother’s customers receive the best of service at all times.

Prerequisites

  • Degree qualified in a Networking related course or at least 2 years practical networking experience
  • Theoretical understanding of IP Addressing, Subnets, Routing, DNS & DHCP
  • Sound theoretical understanding of routing policies
  • Sound theoretical understanding of modern-day cyber threats and mitigation practices
  • Knowledge of Standard Industry Routing Protocols
  • Positive, professional approach to all aspects of work
  • Thrive under pressure with a calm, logical approach to troubleshooting and satisfying deadlines
  • Full Driving License

Advantageous

  • Practical routing and firewalling experience
  • Practical experience with switches and WiFi equipment
  • Practical VoIP experience
  • Practical Cyber Security experience
