We’ve been shortlisted for Innovation in Business at The Glasgow Business Awards 2026

Big news from the Mother team: we’ve been shortlisted for the Innovation in Business Award at The Glasgow Business Awards 2026, run by Glasgow Chamber of Commerce alongside Virgin Money. Winners get announced at the ceremony on 1 October 2026 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Central, so we’ve got a few months of nervous fingers crossed ahead of us.

We’re properly chuffed about this one. Here’s a bit more on what the category actually looks for, and why we think it’s worth sharing beyond just “we got shortlisted, yay.”

What does Innovation in Business actually judge?

It’s not a category for whoever’s got the shiniest idea on paper. The judges want a clear, honest explanation of the innovation and where it came from, real evidence of commercial impact (growth, investment, staying power), and proof it’s actually changed how the business works or how customers are looked after. Basically: has this idea done anything, or does it just sound good in a pitch deck?

That’s the bit we liked about entering. It made us sit down and properly explain RoundClock Security Suite, our fully managed cybersecurity service, rather than just talk about it in passing.

Why we entered with RoundClock

Most businesses we talk to already know cybercrime is a real problem. What they don’t always have is a proper way to deal with it: a firewall from one supplier, antivirus from another, MFA bolted on once someone finally gets spooked. Each bit does its job fine on its own, but nobody’s watching how they fit together. And that’s exactly where attackers get in, not through any one weak product, but through the gap between them.

RoundClock was our answer to that. Rather than selling another tool to add to the pile, we took the whole thing off customers’ plates: the right technology, round-the-clock monitoring, expert guidance and staff training, all managed by us as one joined-up service instead of a shelf of separate products.

It’s not innovation because of one clever new invention, it’s Mother doing the curating. We keep researching the market, only pick trusted and proven tools, and back them up with actual human expertise and ongoing training. Three years on, RoundClock’s grown from an idea into one of our fastest-growing services, and we’re already on version six of the brochure as we keep adding to it to keep up with new threats.

Why this matters for our customers, not just us

Getting shortlisted was never the goal when we built RoundClock, but it’s a genuinely useful bit of outside validation for something we tell customers all the time: this actually works.

The judging process isn’t just us saying it’s good. The Chamber and Virgin Money are specifically looking at commercial relevance and real impact before anything gets near a shortlist. So this is independent scrutiny standing behind the results, not just us talking ourselves up.

More than anything, it reflects the philosophy behind RoundClock in the first place: cybersecurity shouldn’t be something that keeps business owners up at night. Being recognised for it tells us, and hopefully tells you, that taking that weight off your shoulders isn’t just a nice line in a brochure. It’s a strategy that actually holds up.

What's next

We’ll find out how we’ve done at the ceremony in October, and we’re genuinely looking forward to celebrating with the rest of the shortlist on the night. Some strong company to be in. In the meantime, RoundClock isn’t sitting still. We’re looking at how AI can strengthen both our monitoring and the protection we give customers, and we’re expanding the customer education side of things too.
